During his speech at the first Central Asia – European Union summit in Samarkand, Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov confirmed his readiness to provide investors with the most favorable conditions and invited European companies to be present on the Turkmen market, TDH reports.
The head of state expressed confidence that the effective investment participation of the European Union in a complex of infrastructure projects in the region will bring serious geo-economic and commercial dividends, strengthen and expand the long-term positions of European business in Central Asia.
"We believe that trade and economic partnership today requires serious consideration from the point of view of its effectiveness and compliance with objective possibilities. Our region can become a place for European companies to create large modern production facilities in industry, transport and communications, investments in projects of scientific and technological clusters, service centers," added the President of Turkmenistan.
The first Central Asia-EU summit was held in Samarkand on Friday. It was chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and attended by the heads of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan. The European Union was represented by the President of the European Council António Costa and the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen.
