Enjoy an armchair tour of Alaska’s ports during a free program from Mentor Public Library.

This program will be presented twice, first at 10 a.m. on April 8 at the Concord Township Community Center, 7671 Auburn Road; and then again at 6 p.m. April 24 at Mentor Public Library’s Main Branch, 8215 Mentor Ave.; according to a news release.

Due to limited space, registration is required. To RSVP for the April 8 presentation, call the community center at 440-639-4650. For the April 24 program, sign up at www.mentorpl.org or call the library at 440-255-8811 ext. 1.

Attendees can discover Juneau, Skagway and Ketchican — ports along Alaska’s Inside Passage — through the travel journal of a recent explorer. People will learn about the cities’ history, culture, and wildlife, and also find out how they adapt when cruising tourists double and triple the towns’ populations during the summer months.
